Words Wealth

"Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying:" Isaiah 37:15
"Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD, You alone.” Isaiah 37:20

I read this scripture this morning and I found it to be very powerful. King Hezekiah was intimidated by his enemy who had threatened him and told him that he would take over his kingdom. Basically saying that the God he served, was like the gods of the other nations he had destroyed. These words shook him.

But Hezekiah prayed and sought God. In this part of the book of Isaiah we see a picture of King Hezekiah's faith response to the accusation and threats that came from the enemies of God's people.
We too, face attacks and like Hezekiah, should seek the Lord FIRST (and not after) and put our faith and trust in Him for protection, direction and comfort in the time of attack.

At the end of King Hezekiah's prayer we see that he worshipped God to align himself, his mind and emotions by confessing that God is Lord. By calling Him Lord, he agrees that he has authority, control and power over all things. (hence the capital L). Altogether his desire was for God to get the glory. For EVERYONE to know that God is Lord alone, even his enemy.

When we feel like we are up against so much. Let us call upon the Lord God help us through our trials. That we may have the mindset and make the right decisions based on God's Word. Above all, May God get the glory and may everyone around us, through all of this, see that God is Lord, ALONE!!
